00:03 Phlunk3 hehe :) was just thinking sinterklaas comes on the 5th :)
00:03 Judit sinterklass?
00:04 Phlunk3 yeah 5th december is umm, the main present night
00:04 didnt get to set my shoe this year, but I did get some chocolates
00:05 Judit Did you polish your shoes?
00:06 Phlunk3 dont think zwarte piet cares if your shoes are polished lol
00:06 Judit it does matter!

00:08 WinXnet Hello all, I was wondering if anyone here has had experience exporting patron data from Koha for import into the CASSIE system ?
00:12 eythian Phlunk3: yeah, sinterklaas is the important day, I reckon :)
00:12 it's when the presents come.
00:13 Phlunk3 yeah, we were meant to go see sinterklaas arrive here on saturday but the thing got rained out :(
00:13 eythian Phlunk3: where are you?
00:14 oh, you're up 'naki way, aren't you?
00:15 mtj WinXnet:  nope - prolly better to ask on the CASSIE irc channel ;)
00:15 WinXnet Will do Thanks
00:15 Phlunk3 Tauranga
00:16 * eythian doesn't even know what CASSIE is.
00:16 eythian ah right
00:16 rhcl Cassie = public access control system
00:18 http://www.librarica.com/featu[…]ccesscontrol.html
00:19 eythian oh ah
00:19 mtj aah, oops - i  assumed  CASSIE was another ILS
00:20 rhcl nope. Same function as Userful or Envisionware or PC-Cop
00:21 If you don't connect one of these systems to an ILS, then one thing you can do (it's ugly) is to export the ILS patron database and inport it into the public access control system.
00:22 and with that, I hear the dinner bell ringing.
00:22 Later all
00:35 * wizzyrea vows never to eat KFC whilst in NZ
00:36 Judit :D what happened

00:39 wizzyrea no - it's just... I can get that here :P
00:39 chris_n ahh
00:39 yeah, they wanted to take me to McD's in Spain
00:40 * chris_n strongly protested
00:40 Judit hahaha
00:40 mcd in spain
00:40 wizzyrea the dunkin donuts, however (in the auckland airport) was strangely comforting after a 13 hour flight.
00:40 * chris_n thinks donuts and chocloate are universal foods
00:41 wizzyrea *nod*
00:43 eythian wizzyrea: I get the impression KFC is better here, though it's still not that good.
00:44 wizzyrea hmmm
00:44 well... maybe I will try it *once*
00:44 Judit Can KFC be good at all?

16:51 jcamins Probably not.

16:51 libsysguy then there is a non-mapable unicode char

16:56 libsysguy so does that mean we have to go find that record?
16:57 jcamins Actually, it's a bit worse than that.
16:57 It means you have to identify which records are in MARC-8.
16:57 libsysguy DRA was it
16:58 jcamins Ohhh. ATLAS.
16:58 libsysguy haha
16:58 jcamins Yeah, so you have to figure out which records are in MARC-8, and fix them.
16:59 libsysguy hmm

19:33 wizzyrea we'll always *try* to answer
19:33 indradg wizzyrea, thanks! :)
19:34 ok... here is what I need to do... I have a proprietary system hosting ~150000 titles
19:34 the system has a z39.50 and can otherwise export MARC21 records
19:36 I wish to allow other non-connected (to the Internet) systems running Koha 3.4.x the ability to use these records for copy cataloging
19:36 rangi yup

19:36 rangi you can make another zebra db, import the files in there
19:37 wizzyrea there is network between them or no?
19:37 rangi then connect to it with koha z3950
19:37 indradg what I'm thinking - can I run a standalone Zebra server (on these non-connected systems running Koha) without conflicting with Koha's existing DB
19:37 rangi yes
19:37 same server
19:37 indradg wizzyrea, no network
19:37 rangi different db
19:37 wizzyrea k that was what I thought

19:37 wizzyrea forget authorities
19:37 wahanui wizzyrea: I forgot authorities
19:37 rangi and the same zebraserver can serve them just fine
19:38 that make sense?
19:38 you could run another instance if you wanted, but you dont have to
19:38 indradg rangi, wizzyrea, wahanui so essentially in koha's client target params - localhost:<same_port> only diff db ?

20:05 #ok(@$borrowers==0, "Search In Table columns filter firstname title limit Valjean not in other fields than surname ");
20:05 should get 0 results
20:05 it gets 2
20:05 sekjal change between "and" and "or"?
20:05 wahanui sekjal: that doesn't look right
20:05 rangi i suspect so
20:05 sekjal instead of "Valjean" AND "firstname = "Jean", it's doing the OR
20:05 which would work
20:06 odd, though
20:06 since the change that Members searching required was to change "OR" to "AND" (other direction)
20:06 rangi yep
20:07 ill track it down
20:08 SELECT borrowernumber from borrowers WHERE ((( borrowers.firstname = ?  OR  borrowers.title = ? ))) OR ((( borrowers.firstname = ? )))  Valjean,Valjean,Jean
20:08 that or
20:09 sekjal that would do it

20:51 rhcl I was tempted to drag it to the last KohaCon, but it was my first event and I didn't know what the forum might be like.
20:52 wizzyrea I think you mean kudoscon
20:52 that wasn't a kohacon ;)
20:52 rhcl Yea, that's what I ment
20:52 meant
20:52 jcamins rhcl: did you actually put Koha on it?
20:52 libsysguy hmm
20:53 i keep getting XSLT errors...CURSE YOU MARC
20:53 rhcl Actually, I had FreeNAS on it at first, but only as a test (for which it worked fine). I have a new tech assistant and I've got him involved in putting Deb on it and then Koha just as a test too (and training for him).
20:54 * jcamins is kind of tempted to try.
20:54 jcamins I guess the question is, could I get a motherboard that would let me hook up four PATA and 1 SATA HD inexpensively.
20:55 rhcl I fully expect it to go completely normally--but I can pass the results to you when we get it done. It's just finding the time to work on it in between crises.

20:56 Brooke o/
20:57 oleonard Hi Brooke
20:57 Brooke howdy
20:57 jcamins ("waste not, want not," that's my motto)
20:57 Of course.
20:57 You can get a mini-ITX MB/CPU compo with a 3.2Ghz triple-core process for $112.
20:57 I remember when I got a 700Mhz processor. It was thrilling.
20:58 rhcl The system board I mentioned above has 4 SATA connectors, but no PATA. It does have and x16 slot where you could install a cheap IDE controller.
20:58 an
20:58 * Brooke drools at the mention of hardware, even if it is deprecated.
20:58 rhcl oh no, this is current stuff brooke
20:59 jcamins rhcl: good call.
21:00 Brooke a 700mhz processor? Not so much...
21:01 * oleonard had no idea Brooke was a hardware gal
21:01 Brooke are you kidding, it's made for someone of my intellect. Stuff only fits one place usually, and if I have to use brute force, I'm doin' it wrong. ;)

21:03 http://i1-news.softpedia-stati[…]g-E-350-APU-5.jpg
21:04 jcamins rhcl: what's the single connector by itself?
21:04 I recognize everything else.
21:04 NCARMichael hey, anyone have any idea why my system would suddenly be failing to register patron-placed holds?
21:04 wizzyrea HDMI
21:04 I think
21:04 NCARMichael i did try enabling emailLibrarianWhenHoldIsPlaced
21:04 jcamins wizzyrea: ah.
21:04 rhcl which one? Not the power?
21:05 * jcamins hasn't had a TV in so long, he has no idea what HDMI looks like.
21:05 rhcl Yea, HDMI?
21:05 NCARMichael and then disabled it shortly thereafter
21:05 * wizzyrea asks the obvious question "Did you change anything?"
21:05 indradg what is likely to happen if zebraidx hits the memMax setting while indexing?
21:05 wizzyrea indexing will fail
21:06 NCARMichael enabled emailLibrarianWhenHoldIsPlaced, noticed it was successfully send me an email, but NOT registering the hold elsewhere.
21:06 indradg wizzyrea, so what is the approx limit to hit the default 50M limit of memMax ?
21:06 NCARMichael disabled it, and now i get nothing.
21:06 no emails, no holds
21:07 wizzyrea jcamins might have a better idea of that than me
21:07 indradg jcamins, ^^
21:07 jcamins indradg: I'm not sure. Never hit it.
21:07 rhcl http://www.asrock.com/mb/overv[…]model=e350m1/usb3  -- specs
21:07 indradg jcamins, typical number of records you usually push to the indexer?
21:08 jcamins indradg: I've never gone beyond...
21:08 uhhh...
21:08 indradg say if you are rebuilding the indexes
21:08 jcamins Counting NEKLS...
21:08 600k?

21:08 indradg jcamins, fabulous! works for me :)
21:08 thanks
21:08 jcamins indradg: usually I'm in the 100k range, but I've gone up to 600k without Zebra exploding.
21:09 rangi !jenkins build koha_master now
21:09 jenkins_koha rangi: job koha_master build scheduled now
21:09 wizzyrea the shadow lock file, however
21:09 you've hit the max on that right?
21:09 jcamins wizzyrea: oh yeah.
21:09 memMax I've never hit.
21:09 You'll need to increase the amount of space available for the register and shadow directories.
21:10 indradg jcamins, any ballpark idea for 200k records?

21:12 jcamins indradg: it won't use more space than it needs, no matter what.
