03:08 mtj hi dcook, many thanks ❤️
03:13 looks like the problem arrived in buster
03:13 https://packages.debian.org/buster/debhelper
03:13 https://metadata.ftp-master.de[…]_12.1.1_changelog
03:15 ah yes, debhelper (11.3) unstable; urgency=medium
03:30 dcook mtj: That problem was tickling my brain haha
03:31 mtj hiya dcook, im glad you clicked to the offending package!
03:32 dcook I thought that I'd googled about it the other day and found nothing but for some reason today's googling went better
03:32 mtj just testing yr patch now
03:33 dcook I was looking at dh_installdocs the other day but yeah the googling led to dh_installchangelog
03:33 Kewl
03:33 I only tested packaging it. i didn't test the installation yet. Guess I should give that a go..
03:35 mtj np, i can do that bit now :)
03:36 its funny to be bumping into a bug introduced 5 years ago
03:36 -- Niels Thykier <niels@thykier.net>  Sun, 20 May 2018 20:35:00 +0000
03:38 dcook Ikr
03:38 I just tried an install and it worked file wise
03:39 I noticed on the Github that it was 5 years old and I was like "Yeah..." haha
03:39 I suppose Debian moves slowly overall
03:39 And we all were probably slow to update build machines
04:07 mtj i think my reasoning for building pkgs on deb9 was that we are still supporting u18
04:08 but, we dropped support for u18 on 22.11+
04:09 so, i thought i would try bumping master pkgs up to deb10... and oops
04:33 dcook I think deb9 went EOL on June 30 2022 as well so it was certainly time
04:34 Thanks for the sign off :D
04:34 I love a good vexing problem haha
04:35 Or rather finding a solution for it
04:36 Nothing like figuring out a problem and not being able to implement a solution (for whatever reason)
04:36 Also hurray for open source. Being able to actually look at the debhelper code to work things out
04:36 I deal with closed source third party products sometimes and you find a flaw but you've got no visibility to help the third party devs at all...

14:54 kidclamp Joubu: I am just a simple man, I like simple patches ;-)
14:55 Joubu kidclamp: yes I like simplicity as well, but you dont' add readability to an already unreadable C4 package ;)
14:56 holdability should be store in the search engine...
14:56 I thought we had a patch for that
14:57 kidclamp this relies on patron data too though, so storing that would require calculations per patron categroy?
14:57 I do think we should precalculate/cahce a lot of that, but at a higher lever - category/itemtype/branch - and then access for specific item/patron
14:57 but that's bigger than this patch
16:10 cait1 fwiw I think kidclamp is right, too many factors that define holdability and record/item level is different
16:10 you can't really put that into the index
