02:48 | afperth | hi there, we have been using KOHA since 2006 and the main box situated in Canberra alliance francaise de Perth has broken down. we need to access our data and will need a my cloud address to be able to retrieve it without the vblack box please. our email address is Receptionafperth.com.au |
02:53 | mtj | hi afperth, do you host your own koha? or have someone else do that? |
02:54 | aah, koha is located and admined by AF canberra
02:57 | afperth: have you tried contacting whoever admins your koha system?
03:18 | afperth | Good morning, we have tried contacting canberra and they said that the black box is broken and that we can't access the server anymore ;-( I am trying to find a way to access it whithout this box?! |
03:45 | can you help us please?
03:48 | or is there any way that you could send us by email all our Perth data recoded (7000 items ) on an excel documents so we can import it somewhere else?
03:53 | mtj | hi afperth, i can try to help |
03:56 | afperth: i sent you a message
04:00 | afperth: its unlikely that someone here can send you your data, as no one has access to that system
04:00 | oleonard joined #koha
04:00 | mtj | but someone may be able to help the AF to get access to the system (and data) |
04:01 | (i also have to head out in 30 mins too)
04:02 | afperth | how can we access it? without the black box? is there an adress? |
04:02 | mtj | afperth: at this stage, you know more about your system than we do |
04:02 | afperth | my phone does not allow me to call outside Australia! |
04:03 | is there someone I could contact?
04:04 | mtj | you need to find out the contact person for your system |
04:05 | afperth | the problem is the contact has changed so many times!! |
04:07 | mtj | hmm, that specific problem we cant help you with |
04:11 | afperth: i would send a group email within AF, asking for help and information
04:12 | afperth | every other alliance have given up and starting recording individual items on another system unfortunately! |
04:15 | mtj | aah ok |
04:17 | wel... if the system is physically located in canberra, try getting someone in canberra to help
04:18 | AF canberra probably employ someone to admin their computer systems
04:19 | try getting some advice from them ^
04:19 | ask them to access this support channel for help
04:22 | afperth: hokay, i need to go now :0)
04:22 | afperth | they used to pay someone but now they don't want to spend anymore money ans also the black box is broken anyway! so nobody can access anything anymore |

08:15 | ashimema | humm.. |
08:15 | I hadn't noticed yet
08:15 | marcelr | try git bz attach |
08:20 | fridolin | a small issue but fix very useful Bug 31887 |

08:21 | ashimema | works OK for me marcelr |
09:02 | marcelr | thx ashimema i saw that davidnind reported the problem too |
09:02 | so there must be something?
09:03 | davidnind[m] | I'm fine signing off other bugs, so maybe something with that specific bug |
09:03 | marcelr | ok |
09:04 | after i tried that particular one, i had issue with other patches too
09:04 | but i refreshed the container now
09:04 | will try again | |
09:05 | yeah same issue again
09:05 | davidnind[m] | I did a git pull for KTD, and a docker-compose pull as well, but it made no difference - still had the error |

09:14 | hmm kind of stubborn thing, i removed the whole title.. but to no avail yet
09:17 | ashimema | dang |
09:17 | annoying | |
09:19 | marcelr | he solved |
09:19 | it is a git bz issue with unicode cruft on the Bugzilla title and attachment name
09:20 | ashimema | erm.. |
09:20 | it just worked first time for me.. lol
09:20 | I have no idea why | |
09:20 | davidnind[m] | marcelr++ |
09:20 | marcelr | version differences? |
09:22 | ashimema | maybe.. |
09:23 | marcelr | ashimema you are interfering |
09:23 | now i have the issue again
09:23 | ashimema | ? |
09:24 | ☹️ | |
09:24 | marcelr | i will remove your stuff |
09:24 | ashimema | ok |
09:25 | marcelr | ashimema: could you forget the former patch and add a qa stamp on the current(!!!) one ? |
09:26 | ashimema | sure |
09:27 | marcelr | great |
09:31 | Joubu | bz attach with and without -e behave differently with the unicode issue IIRC |
09:32 | marcelr | ok i should have tried |
09:33 | ashimema | oh.. i never use -e |
09:33 | marcelr | and i do: git bz attach -e -n $1 HEAD; |
09:34 | so thats the cause
09:34 | * ashimema | should try the puthon3 branch some time soon |
09:36 | marcelr | With -e, allows editing of the attachments on the listed bug |

10:20 | paulderscheid[m] | morning all |
10:24 | oleonard | o/ |
10:34 | mtj | hi folks, im curious about the gbz attach unicode problems too... |
10:35 | the problem seems to be a recent thing for me
10:36 | i havent done any big upgrades on my dev box in along time
10:37 | Joubu | it's not a recent problem, it has always been there |
10:37 | mtj | hmm, ok |
10:37 | ashimema | it's why I stopped using -e nearly a decade ago and never looked back I think. |
10:38 | i pretty much never got into the habbit of using -e because it worked so infrequently for me
10:38 | cait | I am constantly using -e |
10:38 | don't have any issues usually
10:38 | ashimema | I think it got better, but never 100% |
10:38 | oleonard | I just use it because I was told to 100 years ago and I never even knew why |
10:38 | ashimema | I'm in the habbit of looking at bz to add comments myself |
10:38 | cait | it brings up the edit |
10:38 | so you can obsolete and set patch difficulty
10:39 | ashimema | it auto-obsoletes anyway |
10:39 | without -e | |
10:39 | mtj | i have an alias to use -e always too |
10:39 | ashimema | so long as patch names match.. which they usually will |
10:39 | I can't set 'obsolete' tags on comments via -e (which would be nice)
10:39 | cait | yeah, but I often do clean-up stuff |
10:40 | ashimema | and I tend to go to the bug on bz to check it uploaded OK then add my comment |
10:40 | so -e doesn't win me anything in my workflow
10:40 | I really really really wish there was a way to hide all the 'this was attached' comments..
10:40 | they drive me mad | |
10:41 | * magnuse | never had issues with -e, but uses bz way too infrequently... |
10:41 | magnuse | if i have a catalogue where some records have "place of publication" in 260a and some have it in 264a, and i want to get both into biblio.copyrightdate, should it work to simply map both marc fields to that db field in admin/koha2marclinks.pl? |
10:45 | cait | I hope so :) |
10:45 | Joubu | ashimema: The comments with patches that have been obsoleted are obsoleted (cronjob IIRC), and so are folded |
10:48 | ashimema | I've been doing it manually for ages.. I don't see it happen otherwise |
10:48 | so maybe there's a cronjob that's dead?
10:48 | cait | maybe you are too fast for the cron :) |
10:48 | * cait | heads into a 2 hour meeting.... wish me luck |
10:48 | cait | :) |
10:48 | Joubu | doing manually? |
10:49 | oleonard | I thought I remembered the comments being obsoleted automatically at one time but it has been ages since it worked |
10:49 | I thought I asked rangi[m] about it at one time but maybe I misremember
10:50 | ashimema | as in I go through every bloody comment and add the 'obsolete' tag to it.. |
10:50 | Joubu | There was that as well, but haven't tried it since... https://pastebin.com/c99G9KgG |
10:50 | ashimema | so I can actually read the comments |
10:53 | * ashimema | has recently switched to firefox.. any tips on which extension for using userscripts like that one Joubu ? |

15:19 | caroline | SupportLibrary[m], I don't think there is a way to remove the button or the option. However, I suggest changing your frameworks so that the hidden fields are in an actual tab (not the ignore tab) and the Editor checkbox is unchecked. That way, the information will not be lost if you change frameworks, but the field will not be visible in the editor |
15:19 | I don't know if that makes sense?
15:20 | I you really want to hide the option, I guess you could do it with the InranertUserCSS or IntranetUserJS system preference
