02:24 | mtj | heres a random T::T questions... how to see/dump all T::T variables used for a page generation? |
02:25 | i can see a few people asking the Q on perlmonks, but no real answer... :/
02:25 | http://www.perlmonks.org/?node_id=641731
02:25 | http://www.perlmonks.org/?node_id=749813
02:26 | ooh, that look like the solution? -> http://www.tt2.org/docs/manual[…]_Global_Variables
02:27 | jcamins | mtj: in what way? |
02:29 | mtj | well..., there's a tt code snippet showing a cgi object getting dumped to the screen |
02:29 | ...that looks pretty close to what i need
02:30 | jcamins | I think possibly you sent the wrong link? |
02:30 | mtj | hmm, no |
02:31 | am i missing something stupid?
02:31 | jcamins | You sent a link to a brief writeup on BLOCKs. |
02:31 | mtj | oops! :) |
02:32 | http://www.tt2.org/docs/manual[…]l#section_Objects
02:32 | objects | |
02:32 | jcamins | Hm. |
02:32 | That won't help. | |
02:32 | You want to know the variables used by the template.
02:33 | mtj | basically, i need some code in a tt file, to identify what .pl or .tt file it was called with... |
02:33 | yep | |
02:33 | jcamins | Okay, let's start over. |
02:33 | First question? | |
02:33 | wahanui | "What are you trying to do?" "What is the goal?" or "What problem are you experiencing?" |
02:34 | mtj | ... and see if any of that data contains and .pl or .tt strings |
02:35 | jcamins | Yeah, you'll definitely have to explain what you want to do. |
02:36 | mtj | so i'm trying to write a bit of TT code, to identify if it was generated by opac-main.pl, basically... |
02:37 | jcamins | Have opac-main.pl pass in a particular argument. |
02:38 | (and whatever other pages you're interested in)
02:38 | Or, use the variable that tells you what your current URL is.
02:39 | mtj | yep, sure... i was trying for a patch that didnt modify opac-main.pl, needlessly |
02:40 | i might just add that 1-liner to opac-main.pl - for the quick-fix :)
02:40 | jcamins | It depends what the patch is for, but I feel pretty sure that it would make more sense to modify opac-main. |
02:41 | Though, I'm also having trouble seeing why more than one Perl file would be calling a particular template, unless it's an include.
02:41 | mtj | i was hoping that some currently available info was already being passed to the template |
02:41 | jcamins | And if it's an include, it shouldn't be page-specific. |
02:42 | mtj | click, you are correct here! :) |
02:43 | ok, i got it sorted now :p - thanx for the brain-SLAP!!!
02:44 | still, an interesting thing i would like to see...
02:45 | ... a way to dump all data-structures for a template object
02:45 | jcamins | That would be very difficult to do. |
02:45 | I think tying the hash would really be the best option.
02:45 | Well, after sleeping, which is the very best option of all.
02:45 | Good night. | |
02:47 | mtj | hmmm, looks close -> http://www.tt2.org/docs/module[…]lugin/Dumper.html |

09:36 | mrenvoize | wikiwise.. we use "ConfirmAccount" + "ConfirmEdit" at a number of my wiki's the prevent the spam problem.. human spammers still get through to the admins, but as long as you've got a good number of admins on the wiki then it's reasonably easy to sort the cruft form the real users. |

13:09 | huginn | 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org[…]w_bug.cgi?id=8229 enhancement, P5 - low, ---, oleonard, NEW , Tabs in marc subfield structure is not shown correctly |
13:10 | matts | okay, know bug, then |
13:10 | oleonard | And a simple fix too |
13:10 | The tab link has a full URL instead of just the anchor portion
13:10 | (my mistake, I must have missed editing those)

20:09 | mbalmer | for the "proof of concept" I just do plain MARC21, then I will figure out how to add the other marcs. |
20:09 | jcamins | Ah. |
20:09 | Fair enough. | |
20:09 | What makes it MARC21 versus UNIMARC?
20:09 | (i.e. are you adding any semantic functionality?)
20:09 | mbalmer | iirc, unimarc has 4 digit field tags. |
20:10 | marc21 has only 3 digits.
20:10 | jcamins | Nope. |
20:10 | Just 3 digit. | |
20:10 | sekjal | mbalmer: the only difference between MARC21 and UNIMARC is the semantic meaning of the fields. the structure (field, subfields and indicators) is the same |
20:10 | mbalmer | well, marc is a minefield anyway ;) |
20:11 | jcamins | It certainly is. |
20:12 | libsysguy | ^^ this |
20:14 | kathryn joined #koha
20:18 | mbalmer | sekjal, that is good news for me. since my work on extracts the fields, but does not interpret them. so maybe naming the whole thing marc21 is not a good idea. |
20:18 | maybe the datatype should only be marc, not marc21?
20:19 | sekjal | if you're not making any use of the meanings of the fields, or whether subfields are required/optional or unique/multiple |
20:19 | then that sounds good
20:20 | wizzyrea | oleonard: http://screencast.com/t/ktW51Gyp instead? |
20:20 | mbalmer | no, I don't interpret the fields in any way. I just produce them from the binary record ( and might soon be able to set them, as well) |
20:21 | oleonard | wizzyrea: Maybe it doesn't need the bookmark? |
20:21 | wizzyrea | *nod* let me see if I can find a different book |
20:21 | jcamins | mbalmer: just make sure that you don't make any assumptions about the order of fields. |
20:22 | mbalmer | I don't. |
20:24 | wizzyrea | nm I just got rid of the bookmark :P |
20:24 | http://screencast.com/t/Zp01tZTAG
20:25 | sekjal | wizzyrea: is that for a fast book transfer.... |
20:25 | * sekjal | reads upwards to see that, yes, that was the context |
20:26 | * wizzyrea | is glad that you got it without context. |
20:26 | wizzyrea | I consider that winning. |
20:26 | just "transfer" really
20:26 | but I thought perhaps having two books next to each other, and one slanting and one not, might look odd.
20:26 | jcamins | Now _that_ is what I'm talking about! |
20:27 | 50% reduction in the length of time it takes to load the page!
20:28 | sekjal | okay, time for me to go. have a good night, all! |
20:28 | oleonard | Bye sekjal |
20:28 | wizzyrea | later sekjal |
20:31 | hmm. I could make all of these icons for circ "on books…" too much?

20:33 | wizzyrea | try sudo apt-get install libtext-unaccent-perl. |
20:33 | jcamins | nengard: you'll need to install Text::Unaccent. libtext-unaccent-perl |
20:34 | nengard | thanks liz that worked - cpan didn't |
20:34 | wizzyrea | :) np, happy to help |

20:53 | jcamins | There has got to be a better way to do this. |
20:53 | Oh well. | |
20:53 | libsysguy | jcamins what are you rebasing for? |
20:54 | jcamins | libsysguy: I'm trying to remove a commit that wasn't the last. |

20:54 | jcamins | Oooh! |
20:54 | I can use git revert for commits prior to the last.
20:54 | Thank goodness. | |
20:54 | libsysguy | haha yeahhh |
21:16 | jcamins | BTW, reverting a dozen commits from within the last 500 or so is *way* more pleasant than trying to rebase them out. |
21:17 | I always forget that git revert will cope with commits prior to the last.

21:46 | YoungPublicLibrarian | Looking for someone to help me modify my KOHA query so it gives me the proper information on a report. Anyone available? (Eying Wizzyrea's name over there in the user column :D) |
21:51 | * wizzyrea | waves |
21:52 | wizzyrea | sorry, I was away from my desk |
21:54 | YoungPublicLibrarian | no problem. I have the fines and fees query that you helped me with last time. I would like to add code to it that asks for a specific start and end date to pull the fines and fees from, but I'm not sure what to add or where. |
21:57 | jcamins | I think James may have just asked for help with that report. |
21:58 | wizzyrea | what do you have so far? |
22:00 | YoungPublicLibrarian | Should I just paste the report into here? |

23:21 | jcamins | papa: do I need to use some module in order to use wait? |
23:22 | use POSIX? | |
23:22 | * jcamins | tries. |
23:22 | papa | I don't think so |
23:22 | I think it is core | |
23:22 | YoungPublicLibrarian | Wizzyrea, are you still here or did something come up? Thanks |
23:22 | jcamins | Hm. |
23:23 | papa | the idea of perl was to replace sh/sed/awk, so everything these provide should be in core |
23:27 | jcamins | Well, waitpid works. |
23:29 | papa | ah, sorry, I was thinking sleep |
23:29 | * papa | hides |
23:29 | jcamins | No worries. I figured it out. :) |
23:29 | Well, sort of. | |
23:29 | papa | but fork and wait should be core as well |
23:31 | jcamins | I think maybe wait is either new or old. |
23:31 | Or not a regular function.
23:32 | papa | perldoc -f wait |
23:32 | jcamins | However, since waitpid works, and I just teed the output of the tests, I'm satisfied. |
23:32 | papa | then you win :) |
