11:39 hiya druthb - how's the weather?
11:40 druthb sunny and clear, here.
11:40 magnuse yay!
11:41 druthb (I'm about 1600km inland, though, so this is no surprise. I'm worried about jcamins and NateC and JesseM and sekjal and nengard...a  *lot*.
11:46 magnuse yeah, the forecast has not been looking good!
11:46 it's all over the news here
11:48 druthb One of the more-prominent anti-globlal-warming people here, who thinks that global warming is bogus, said yesterday that he didn't think this hurricane would "cough up even eight bodies."  That's a crass way to put it, but there are already 10 deaths, according to CNN.
11:49 magnuse wow, what a way to put it
11:50 and weird "logic" - i don't believe in global warming so this weather is not dangerous?
11:51 druthb Meanwhile, certain Republicans, including one from Virginia, which has been hammered by the storm, are going to withhold disaster relief money in Congress, until they get spending cuts elsewhere that they want.
11:52 (and the Loony From Texas, Ron Paul, thinks we ought to do away with the Federal Emergency Management Administration, *right now*.)
11:52 magnuse ouch
11:55 druthb I fear that the US government is really losing its' buttons right now.  The "Tea Party" Republicans absolutely don't care about anything but cutting spending, and damn the consequences, and the absolutely won't raise taxes on their rich friends.    Between that, and the fact that the House is Republican-controlled, and the Senate is Democrat-controlled, they just can't seem to get anything useful passed.  Compromise and negotiate are dirty word
11:59 jcamins Weird... is Google down?
11:59 druthb isn't for me, jcamins.
12:00 jcamins Hrm.
12:01 Now it's working.
12:04 magnuse us politics...
12:04 how you doing jcamins - are you hit by the weather?
12:07 jcamins It's pretty breezy, and it's raining pretty hard, but it's not nearly as bad as you might expect.
12:08 magnuse yay
12:08 knock on wood
12:09 jcamins Right.
12:12 Looks like the eye is expected to pass directly over us, though.
12:13 matts_away joined #koha
12:15 magnuse any timeframe for that jcamins?
12:15 jcamins Hour or two, I think. It's kind of hard to read these charts.
12:19 Just over an hour.
12:19 It was just over an hour away 20 minutes ago.
12:21 druthb http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refres[…]nl?large#contents
12:23 From the discussion, the storm is starting to lose coherence a little, as dryer air from inshore gets sucked into the southern half of the storm, but the low-pressure center at the eye is very, very strong.
12:24 jcamins Apparently I'm not to be trusted unsupervised. Myshkin has placed himself as close to the bedroom as he can get while still have a straight run to rescue me in the study.
12:25 druthb What's unusual about this storm is that winds are *much* higher just above the surface; tall high-rises could face Cat-2 or even Cat-3 winds, even though officially, it's a Cat-1 storm.
12:25 awww...  Myshkin gonna save you!
12:27 magnuse go myshkin!
12:37 druthb Well, I'm gonna go get cleaned up, and then get the evil minion out of bed, and hit the road.  We've got about a six hour run to get to Sioux Falls today; I'd like to get an early start.
12:38 magnuse have a nice trip, druthb!
12:38 druthb :)  Be well.   jcamins, you and shari and that fierce cat take care, okay?
12:58 jcamins How do you address the element in an array immediately after the last filled element?

15:07 jcamins Anyone around to offer feedback on syspref wording?
15:20 ketchup Changes to the Koha license have been discussed in the past.
15:21 I see that the OpenStreetMap Project (openstreettmap.org) is in the process of changing their license via (partly) a click agreement when submitting updates or additions.

15:22 arggg, change above link to openstreetmap.org
15:33 jcamins ketchup (rhcl?): does the SYSPREFS section in the first comment on bug 6800 make sense?
15:33 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org[…]w_bug.cgi?id=6800 enhancement, PATCH-Sent, ---, jcamins, ASSIGNED , Koha authentication should handle proxies better
15:33 ketchup gimme a sec to look

15:40 jcamins Master of Advanced Studies?
15:45 Administrative Science?
15:46 ketchup OK, yes, read and makes sense to me. Doesn't address, and is probably outside the scope of the issue, a lookup table of trusted proxies, but thats
15:46 oops....
15:47 a logical extension.

19:56 jcamins Morning.
19:57 cait yes :)
19:57 and I was right about the spiders
19:57 found too big spiders in the shower and one under the window...

19:59 cait can you I borrow your cat?
19:59 rangi yep have to come get her tho
20:00 cait hm
20:00 jcamins rangi: if you get a chance, could you take a quick peek at my patch for bug 6800, and just confirm that my solution isn't crazy?
20:00 huginn 04Bug http://bugs.koha-community.org[…]w_bug.cgi?id=6800 enhancement, PATCH-Sent, ---, jcamins, ASSIGNED , Koha authentication should handle proxies better
20:00 jcamins And, for that matter, that there's a problem.
20:00 cait rangi: thinking about the spiders in here it tempting to jump the next plane
20:01 rangi have meetings today but will try tomorrow
20:01 jcamins Thanks.
20:02 rangi hmm
20:02 koha usually only notices when ur ip changes
20:02 not when it doesn't
20:02 jcamins Right.
20:02 rangi but ill check
20:02 jcamins That's the problem.
20:03 rangi whats the problem?
20:03 wahanui i think the problem is its human beings doing it
20:03 jcamins If you set up a reverse proxy, all clients will appear to have the same IP.
20:03 rangi not if you do it right
20:04 you can make it pass through
20:04 but yeah theres no harm checking both
20:04 jcamins Oh, well, huh. I guess that wasn't one-hundred percent necessary, then.
20:05 rangi doesn't hurt
20:05 the real problem is using squid as a reverse proxy .... thats a bad idea :)
20:05 jcamins Oh, I wasn't using squid.
20:06 It works terribly.
20:06 rangi but we may as well check both
20:06 jcamins However, that's the easiest way to test my patch.
20:06 rangi *nod*
20:07 just reading on the bus doesn't seem bad
20:07 jcamins I figured probably anyone who was testing it wouldn't actually be in a situation where they needed it.
20:08 rangi yup
